Uruburu
In collaboration with Katla Maríudóttir, Fanney Long Einarsdóttir, Jón Einar Björnsson, Hildur Hermannsdóttir, Carlos García Delicado and Ósk Ebenesersdóttir.
Uruburu is an idea for furniture making at Litla-Hraun prison. the inmates will work on creating new furniture of quality out of old wood. They follow specific instructions to make the furniture. By using their creativity and skill they shape the chair legs at their own will or the tabletops by carving into them, woodturning, stenciling, painting etc, so each furniture will be one of a kind. The material goes through a moult process and comes out a fullgrown product. Uruburu is an collection of chairs, stools and tables.
